Minimum Days Worked

According to the Collective Agreement section shown below, Occasional Teachers must work the minimum number of days by the end of the school year. Please make note of this date and the requirements. Please also check that you have completed all minimum requirements to stay on the List (ex. Reactivation, Article 8.05).



Article 16.06

Within (1) one school year, and Occasional Teacher must be offered, accept, and complete thirty (30) instructional days (full or part) between September 1 and June 30 in order to remain on the Occasional Teachers' List and Long Term Occasional List, unless the Occasional Teacher has been on approved leave of absence and providing the Occasional Teacher was not offered forty (40) instructional days (full or part) prior to or after the leave of absence. Should an Occasional Teacher not meet the requirement in 16.06, the Occasional Teacher will be notified in writing by July 30th that his/her name has been removed from the Occasional Teacher List and Long Term Occasional List effective June 30 and will not be eligible for permanent or LTA work for the following school year.
