Event Information: February 27th @ 4:30pm at the Stratford Festival (dinner will be provided). Learn to teach drama from the professionals at the Stratford Festival! Exploring physical movement as a way of storytelling, this entry point to drama supports students in developing their understanding of the elements of drama with an emphasis on body language/movement and gestures. Leading this workshop is Melanie McInenly, a Stratford Festival Performer who grew up in Ottawa studying dance at the Greta Leeming Studio of Dance. She continued her musical theatre education at the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria and later at the Arts Educational School in London, England. She has performed in many theatres and in film and television across the UK, US and in Canada. Favourite credits include: Chicago in Paris at the Casino de Paris, Cinderella in the UK, The US National Tour of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and We Will Rock You for the Mirvish Productions in Toronto; also performed in Cats, Grease, Marvelous Wonderettes, Fox on the Fairway for Stage West in Calgary. She has many credits with Drayton Entertainment including: Holiday Inn, White Christmas, Evita, Guys and Dolls, Twist and Shout, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Singing in The Rain. Melanie now lives in Stratford and has performed in two seasons at the Stratford Festival in the productions Carousel, As You Like It, The Sound of Music and A Chorus Line. Most recently she performed in Holiday Inn at The Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. When not onstage Melanie is teaching dance and is a certified Yoga instructor.
